My Biography
My name is Kyle Dawson. I currently work at SeekOps Inc. in Austin, TX. In my role, I mainly help to improve and create algorithms/models for monitoring and quantifying methane and other greenhouse gas emissions. Before that, I received my PhD in Atmospheric Science from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. I am passionate about our environment and take seriously our responsibility for maintaining our generally comfortable surroundings. I'm lucky to work at SeekOps where I can play a pivotal role at the intersection of information as data and environmental stewardship.

I've had the opportunity to do some really interesting work at NASA Langley Research Center with Dr. Rich Ferrare where we analyzed water uptake of aerosol particles at the Department of Energy's SGP site in Oklahoma. My time spent in Academic and Government Research prepared me as a subject matter expert in the climate science space where I also learned that big data science was becoming more and more prevalent. Thus, I ventured into the private sector to be part of the exciting landscape of cloud-based data storage and computing architectures, APIs, cloud security, machine learning and AI, and equitable but progressive decision making towards a sustainable future.

Now, as I work towards more sustainable energy production, the emerging technology and regulatory markets along with the continuous learnings from the data boom are keeping me on my toes both intellectually, and from a regulatory perspective. However, despite my busy work life, I still find time to enjoy Austin's food scene, paddle boarding, decompressing at the gym, and cooking at home.
